What I have learned from Habakkuk - True Faith and Undying HopeText: Habakkuk 1:12-13 (NKJV) v12 Are You not from everlasting, O Lord my God, my Holy One? We shall not die. O Lord, You have appointed them for judgment; O Rock, You have marked them for correction. Introduction: Faithful believers of God (like Habakkuk), ponders on what was happening around the world, the events unfolding in our face, the wickedness, the sickness, diseases, injustices, and we directed our stresses or fustrations in prayers and praising God. Habakkuk prayer of faith of faith for Israel (God`s people) in the face of the coming destruction still stands today as remarkable witness of true faith and undying hope. The book of Habakkuk contains an extended dialogue between him and God (chapters 1 & 2), where Habakkuk initiated the conversation as wickedness and injustices were happening at his face and the inaction of God concerns Him, moreso he got frustrated when God answered him with raising up the Babylonians or Chaldeans to bring justice in wickedness and sins of his people. However, unlike Jonah who runs away from God, Habakkuk brought his problems to God in prayers and ending up praising the Lord. We`ll established today`s sermon in 2 basic sections - (1) the Question, and (2) the Answer Part (1) Twofold question on Habakkuk`s mind 1 - Why does God let sin go unjudged? 2 - Why God use those Chaldeans (Babylonians)? Chapter 1:2-4 (Habakkuk`s first part question) v1 The burden which the prophet Habakkuk saw. The Prophet’s Question Then verses 5-11, the Lord answered him that shocked more the mind of Habakkuk, (v5 Look among the nations and watch—Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you. v6, For indeed I am raising up the Chaldeans, A bitter and hasty nation...) We will now learn something that Habakkuk approached his problem, starting in v12, Are You not from everlasting, O Lord my God, my Holy One? We shall not die. O Lord, You have appointed them for judgment; O Rock, You have marked them for correction. A. Habakkuk first approach – established something he knows (v12) Habakkuk does this: Instead of fooling around with what he doesn’t know, he backs up to what he does know and starts there. 1. God is eternal… “Lord, are you not from everlasting?”. When God told Habakkuk that when the Chaldeans will come and destroy and wipe up the nation of Israel, they would think their own god enabled them to do it and they’d start praising their own god (v11). Then He proclaimed that the God he knows is eternal, from everlasting, that He`s not like the god of the Chaldeans, He`s not like the god of any nation. His God is from eternity to eternity. That`s more reassuring, consoling and more helpful in the midst of a time of oppression or when confused by what’s going on in the world, when your mind is overwhelmed by the happenings in the world today, there’s nothing more wonderful than to stand back on solid ground and say, “One thing I know, that my God is eternal.” 2. God is self-existent… “O Lord, my God”. Habakkuk uses the word Lord, in Hebrew word "Yahweh", which is transliterated Jehovah, and Jehovah was the name of God that meant the “I Am,” the eternally existing One. He always was and He always will be, and nobody made Him because he always was. God is the self-existing eternal “I Am.” God does not depend on anything for His existence. 3. God is Holy… “my Holy One”. Habakkuk know that his God is not only eternal and not only self-existent, but his God is the Holy One. Translated as "God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all." Habakkuk believes that our God will absolutely never do anything wrong, as he is the Holy One. 4. God is Almighty… “my Rock” (in KJV, "mighty God"). The fourth thing Habakkuk knows about his God is that his God is Almighty. God is absolutely all powerful. God is sovereignty in action. Not one single thing happens in this world outside the sovereign will of God. God is the absolute personification of power itself. God is omnipotent; El Shaddai, the almighty one. The God who created the world out of nothing, the God who stood one day and said, “Let there be” and there was. “That God has absolute power.” God is mightier than the Chaldeans, mightier than anything. 5. God is Faithful… “we shall not die”. In the middle of the verse, he says, “We shall not die", because he remembers the covenant made by God to Abraham. God made an unconditional covenant with Israel that He would never destroy them but He would make of them a great nation that would number as the sands of the sea. And so Habakkuk remembers, we’re not going to die, my God is a faithful God. He’s not about to let the Chaldeans wipe us off the face of the earth. He’s got a promise to keep with us. B. Habakkuk second approach on the 2nd question "Why God use those Chaldeans (Babylonians)? v.13, “You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on wickedness. Why do You look on those who deal treacherously, and hold Your tongue when the wicked devours?” 1. God is Holy and God hate sin… “You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on wickedness”. Sin and God are opposites. God cannot handle evil with complacency. God can`t tolerate sin. He is absolutely intolerant toward sin. 2. Wait (2:1)… ”I will stand upon my watch and set myself upon the tower and will watch to see what He will say unto me.” Habakkuk first approach was back off of the problem and stand on what he knows about God. The second next thing Habakkuk is to "Wait". I’ll tell you, that’s how you solve the problem. You just back off and stand around until God answers it. 3. He commits the problem to God… This is a remarkable principle for God`s people to handle problems - to commit our ways to the one who is eternal, self-existent, holy, almighty, and faithful - that is our God. He`ll bring anything to pass, we just wait and commit it to Him.
Part 2 - the Answer from God Twofold answer from God - Judgement and Salvation 2:2, “Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.” 1. Judgment… v3, “For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry”. The judgment of God towards the wickness, sin, injustices, folly of men, is in God`s appointed time. God`s judgment is not a matter of whether He will judge but it`s a matter of when He will judge. So, God told Habakkuk that "I`m going to judge the Chaldeans". The Gospel teaches men that God is going to judge sin no matter who is involved. The Gospel not only speaks of salvation, but of judgment on men towards the Holy God. God has a moral order going on in the world. You break the moral order, and judgment and wrath fall. God will judge sin, but God does not stop at judgment, God provides salvation. 2. Salvation… v4, the just shall live by his faith; v14, For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord. Salvation belongs to every soul who draws towards God and live in the knowledge of God thru faith. Not only that, v14 tells us that salvation is poured out to all nations as the knowledge of the glory of the Lord has filled the earth. That`s awesome and gracious and loving God we believe and we lifted up in our lives. Praises and glory to Him! There are only two possible attitudes and only two alternatives in this life - (1) faith or (2) unbelief. You either believe God or you don’t believe Him. You either have faith in Him or you don’t have faith in Him. You can either withdraw yourself, draw back from the way of faith, or you can live by faith in God. That’s God’s offer of salvation. He says even those Chaldeans, if they want, they can live by faith. Even the Israelites about to be judged, if they want, they can live by faith and escape it. As a man believes so he is, so he lives, and so he dies. A man’s belief will determine his conduct and his destiny. The just, the righteous shall live by faith, but the man who draws back from faith in God is unrighteous. CONCLUSION Habakkuk asked God the kind of question that many of us have pondered, "Why do you allow me to look at evil, stare trouble?. We have all seen the evidence of evil in our lives, and we`ve all been touched by it, connected by it one way or the other. However, the book of Habakkuk reminds us that no place is too dark and no wall too thick for God`s grace to penetrate powerfully to see the grace of God`s salvation and enter to His glorious Kingdom. In this world we live in, we own nothing and love it. When you have Jesus Christ, you have it all and no one can take Him from you. We leave this world with nothing, but only Jesus Christ - the author and finisher of our faith! All glory and honor to Him who is able to keep us from stumbling and to present us before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy. Tto the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen! By B. Romeo07

Daniel`s 70 Weeks - The Savior and His DayText: Daniel 9:24-27
(A) 6 PURPOSES, v24
(B) 7 Weeks and 62 Weeks, v25
7 weeks + 62 weeks = 69 weeks x 7 years = 483 years = 476 Gregorian years
(C) After 62 Weeks, v26
(D) 70th Week, v27
1 Thes. 5:1 Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. THE “FEET” Empire (feet and toes) Daniel 2 Daniel 2:41 And as you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, it shall be a divided kingdom, but some of the firmness of iron shall be in it, just as you saw iron mixed with the soft clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly iron and partly clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly brittle. 43 As you saw the iron mixed with soft clay, so they will mix with one another in marriage, but they will not hold together, just as iron does not mix with clay.

5 Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river. 6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? 7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. Matthew 24 15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Jeremiah 30 7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob`s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
Daniel 7 7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. 8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. 25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. Revelation 13:5-9 KJV [5] And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue 42 months. [6] And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. [7] And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. [8] And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. [9] If any man have an ear, let him hear. 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. Daniel 11:36 “And the king shall do as he wills. He shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak astonishing things against the God of gods. He shall prosper till the indignation is accomplished; for what is decreed shall be done. 37 He shall pay no attention to the gods of his fathers, or to the one beloved by women. He shall not pay attention to any other god, for he shall magnify himself above all. Daniel 8: Ram and Goat Goat: 1 out of 4 horns “Little horn” was Antiochus Epiphanes.

The Unnoticed GloryText: John 2: 9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. 11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him. ALSO, read from verse 1 to 14.
2 things to be careful of:
A. a person may not notice the glory of Jesus because: 1. `acting faithful` = boss-subordinate Master to the groom. Master to the guests? It shoud be, boss-subordinate-guests ACTING means either you have zero knowledge or you are pretending to be someone to prove who you are. 2. `acting humble` = too low, too high Self-righteous groom 3. `acting spiritual` = wordly (1 & 2) B. a person may notice the glory of Jesus by: 1. `acting faithful` being faithful The master should have asked ALSO the servants/source. 2. `acting humble` being humble The groom should have told the truth. 3. `acting spiritual` being spiritual Few guests have discerned to do something spiritual at that moment. They did not take the limelight - simple. C. The unnoticed glory of Jesus
`Everything must work together for good for the Lord’. It is not one-sided love. The Pharisees and Scribes had loved the Lord by way of following the commandment and by tradition. But they did not help their father and their mother because according to them the gift or help that is supposed to or may be given to their parents was offered to God. God had given us family to love. A family is not a substitute for God. b. as parents - The Glory of Jesus
2. AT WORK - The Glory: God has given us promotions - 2Pet.1:3
3. AT THE CHURCH (text) - ROLE and RULE
Common ROLE: In addition to the ‘at work’, is to find ways to help. THE GLORY OF GOD, THE JOY OF LOVE TO HELP. Common RULE:
4. IN THE COMMUNITY THE GLORY OF GOD: submission to authorities Includes: family, individual, residents, guests/foreigners, church Romans 13:1-7 v5 submit not only because of wrath (strict/coercion management) but also for conscience` sake v7 for government is God`s servant - pay tax, vote, wear face mask, …
Noticeable Jesus’ Glory is Spiritual ← Role_and_Rule x (Faithful + Humble) *RULE: - out of love, fix one-sidedness - out of love, all things must work together for good for Jesus
*ROLE : a Christian (servants/leaders): laborer, teacher, nurse, driver, engineer, member, pastor, evangelist, tongue talkers, apostle, etc.

(2) ASK (desire of Him) Luke 11:9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (3) FAITH 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.; Galatians 3:1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? 2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? (4) SPEAK John 7:37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
